CONCURSO

BASES

1ª Podrán participar todos los guitarristas matriculados en el Curso de Guitarra, en la modalidad A) ALUMNO ACTIVO o en la modalidad B) ALUMNO OYENTE + CONCURSO, excepto los ganadores de las ediciones anteriores.

2ª El Concurso contará con dos categorías: Concurso Junior y Concurso “Ciudad de Coria”.

3ª Cada concursante podrá participar en una sola categoría.

A) CONCURSO JUNIOR:

Edad: hasta 18 años. Los participantes no podrán haber cumplido los 19 años durante la celebración del concurso.

Los Concursantes interpretarán un programa libre con un tiempo máximo de 20 minutos.

PREMIOS del Concurso "Junior"

PRIMER PREMIO - 500 € en efectivo. - Concierto en el XVIII Festival Internacional de Guitarra 'Ciudad de Coria'. - Matrícula gratuita en el XVIII Festival Internacional de Guitarra 'Ciudad de Coria'. - Set de productos D'Addario. - Diploma.

SEGUNDO Y TERCER CLASIFICADOS - Diploma.

B) CONCURSO "CIUDAD de CORIA" (SENIOR):

- El Concurso comenzará el jueves día 8 por la mañana, con la Fase Eliminatoria (la fecha y hora del sorteo que decidirá el orden de actuación se anunciará con suficiente antelación en el tablón de anuncios del Festival, así como en el blog oficial guitarracoria.blogspot.com). - Constará de tres fases: Eliminatoria, Semifinal y Final.

FASE ELIMINATORIA

a) Se interpretará una obra a elegir entre las siguientes:

- Un movimiento del Decamerón Negro, de Leo Brouwer.

- Un Preludio, de Johann Sebastian Bach.

- Un Estudio o un Preludio, de Héctor Villa-Lobos.

- Variaciones sobre un tema de Mozart. Op. 9, de Fernando Sor (sin repeticiones).

- Elogio de la Danza, de L. Brouwer.

- En los trigales, de Joaquín Rodrigo.

- Una Bagatella, de William Walton.

- Una Sonata, de Domenico Scarlatti.

b) Además se interpretará una o más obras de libre elección. La duración máxima de la Fase Eliminatoria será de 10 minutos.

FASE SEMIFINAL

Se interpretará un repertorio libre cuya duración no exceda de 20 minutos. En la fase semifinal no se podrán interpretar las obras ya interpretadas en la fase eliminatoria.

FASE FINAL

Se interpretará un repertorio libre cuya duración no exceda de 25 minutos. En la fase final no se podrán interpretar las obras ya interpretadas en las fases eliminatoria y semifinal.

Los concursantes estarán obligados a respetar la duración máxima establecida para cada una de las pruebas. El Jurado se reserva el derecho a interrumpir al participante sólo en el caso de que exceda de dicha duración.

TRIBUNAL

Lo constituirán personalidades del mundo de la música y la cultura. Su fallo será inapelable.

PREMIOS del Concurso "Ciudad de Coria" (Senior)

PRIMER PREMIO

- 5.000 € en efectivo.

- Guitarra de Concierto del Luthier José Rodríguez Peña valorada en  6.000 € .

- Concierto en el Carnegie Hall de Nueva York. Organizado por D'Addario Music Foundation. (*)

- Concierto en EE.UU. para la Sociedad de Guitarra Clásica de Miami.

- Concierto en Alemania.

- Concierto en el XVIII Festival Internacional de Guitarra 'Ciudad de Coria'.

- Set de productos D'Addario.

- Diploma.

(*) Si el ganador del concurso ya hubiera sido presentado anteriormente por D'Addario Music Foundation (por ejemplo, tras ganar cualquier otro concurso con este premio) no podrá hacerlo nuevamente.

SEGUNDO PREMIO - 1.200 € - Set de productos D'Addario. - Diploma TERCER PREMIO - 600 € - Set de productos D'Addario. - Diploma. CUARTO PREMIO - 150 € - Diploma. PREMIO AL MEJOR CLASIFICADO RESIDENTE EN LA COMUNIDAD AUTÓNOMA DE EXTREMADURA - Matrícula gratuita en el XVIII Festival Internacional de Guitarra 'Ciudad de Coria'. - Diploma. (Para optar a este premio, el concursante deberá presentar, antes de su actuación, el certificado de empadronamiento, justificativo de su residencia en cualquier municipio de la Comunidad Autónoma de Extremadura) PREMIO DEL PUBLICO - 200 € (Este premio es acumulable a cualquier otro)

Al Público asistente a la fase Final se le facilitará una papeleta con los nombres de los finalistas. Los espectadores  asistentes a todas las interpretaciones de la Final indicarán en dicha papeleta el guitarrista que a su parecer es el merecedor del Primer Premio y la depositará en una urna. Al finalizar todas las actuaciones, en el lugar de entrega de premios y en presencia del público, se hará el recuento para otorgar este premio del público. Por el hecho de su inscripción, los concursantes aceptan las bases y las decisiones del jurado, renunciando a toda reclamación.

Los premios en metálico están sujetos a las retenciones que marca la ley.

REQUIREMENTS

1^st  All  the guitarists registered as  A) Active Students or B) Listener Student + Competition, except the winners of previous editions, will be able to take part in the Competition.

2^nd There will be two categories : Junior Competition and “Ciudad de Coria” (Senior) Competition.

3^rd  Participants will only be allowed to register in one of the two existing categories.

JUNIOR COMPETITION

4^th  Up to 18 year old.

5^th A free choice repertoire of a maximum length of 20 minutes.

'CIUDAD DE CORIA' COMPETITION (SENIOR)

4^th The competition will start on Thursday, 8^th of August in the morning, with the qualifying stage. It will be announced the day of the draw to decide the performance order in the competition.

5^th It consists of three stages: 1. The qualifying stage 2. The semi Final. 3. The Final one.

THE QUALIFYING STAGE:

a) Candidates will choose one piece from the following list:

• A movement of the Decamerón Negro, by Leo Brouwer.
• A Prelude by Johann Sebastian Bach.
• A Study or a Prelude by Heitor Villa-Lobos.
• Variaciones sobre un tema de Mozart (Variations on a Subject by Mozart). Op.9, by Fernando Sor (without repetitions)
• Elogio de la Danza (Praise of Dance), by L. Brouwer.
• En los trigales (In Wheat fields), by Joaquín Rodrigo.
• A Bagatelle, by William Walton.
• A Sonata, by Domenico Scarlatti.  

b) In addition, each contestant will be requested to play a piece or a group of pieces of his choice. 

THE QUALIFYING STAGE WILL NOT BE ABLE EXCEEDING TEN MINUTES OF LENGT.

THE SEMI-FINAL STAGE

The Semifinalists will be asked to prepare a free list of repertoire.  The maximum amount of time allowed for this performance will be 20 minutes.

In the Semi-final stage, the pieces already played in the qualifying stage will not be able to be repeated.

THE FINAL STAGE:

Finalists will be asked to prepare a free list of repertoire.  The maximum amount of time allowed for this performance will be 25 minutes.

In the final stage, the pieces already played in the qualifying and semifinal stages will not be able to be repeated.

JURY:

It will be composed by music and culture personalities. The decision will be final.

PRIZES 'CIUDAD DE CORIA' COMPETITION (SENIOR)

First prize:

• 5.000 € cash.
• A Guitar concert belonging to the Luthier José Rodríguez Peña, valued at 6.000 €.
• Concert at Carnegie Hall (New York, USA). Organizated by The D'Addario Foundation. (*)
• Concert in Miami (Florida, USA) to The Miami Classical Guitar Society.
• Concert in Germany.
• Concert in the 18^th Festival Ciudad de Coria.
• Set of D'Addario products.
• Diploma.

*In the event that artist has already been presented by D'addario (and for example wins another competition with our prize) will not be able present them twice.

Second prize:

• 1.200 €.
• Set of D'Addario products.
• Diploma.

Third prize:

• 600 €.
• Set of D'Addario products.
• Diploma.

Fourth prize:

• 150 €
• Diploma.

Prize to the best classified local resident in Extremadura:

• Free Matriculation for the 18^th Ciudad de Coria Festival.
• Diploma

To compete for this prize, the contestant must present, before his performance, a residence certificate in any villages of the autonomous region of Extremadura.

Prize from the Audience:

• 200 € (this prize can be accumulated to any others)

Those present to the final stage will be given a ballot paper with the finalists’ names.

Those present to all the final performances will indicate in these ballot papers the guitarist’s name that, in their opinion, deserves the first prize and will place it in the ballot box. When all the performances have finished, a recount will be done, on the stage and in presence of the audience, to award this prize from the audience.

When entering this competition, the contestants agree with the conditions and the jury’s decision, resigning to all claim.
